Cairo

'Le Peking', the Chinese restaurant we went to the last night in Cairo. The food was surprisingly good and the cook (of course) was a Chinese. So so far I've been eating at Chinese restaurants in exactly every country I've been to... :S
Edward took us to the Al-Azhar park. It was great. It was really nice to be in a quiet place for a while after being in Cairo for several days:)
Sunset, and the view of islamic Cairo from Al-Azhar park.
Me and the sunset. There were two girls approached our popular Edward with the intention of entering into a marriage with him, so me and Bram took the time and got some nice pictures while he was flirted by the girls.
More sunset.
More.
Moooooooooore.
For 3eed al-Adha it is customary for families to buy and slaughter a sheep, and then feast on it. Knowing about this tradition, it is a mystery how they could be so stupid as to execute Saddam Hussein on the first day of this feast. You would think at least some of Bush's advisors would have realized the symbolism invoked by it. But I guess it has became fairly clear by now that no lessons are ever learnt from previous mistakes in that administration. (Exactly)

After the sheep are slaughtered, people put their hands in the blood and make these symbols on walls, cars, etc. for good luck and to protect against evil.
Me and the camel guy, who has 4 wive and some hundreds camels.
Me and part of the pyramid..
Taller than the pyramid!!
Sunset.. somewhere.. probably in Islamic Cairo
A weird view of Islamic Cairo
A very good thing about Cairo is the taxi is so cheap! Costs even less than in Beijing!! :) It usually costs less than 1 USD if you want to go somewhere in down.
Cairo down town from the window of our hotel
